FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
What makes The Estate Edit different from other estate sale companies?
The Estate Edit does estate sales better. We take pride in elevating every aspect of the experience- better customer service, better photos, better marketing, and better merchandising. We aren’t interested in oversized garage sales. We like curated, not cluttered.
How do you price the items in an estate sale?
Intelligent pricing is central to The Estate Edit experience. We are well practiced in pricing a wide range of items, from antiques and artwork to furniture and everyday household goods. Research is an important part of the process, and if there’s something we don’t know, we know who does. We also consider factors like condition, market value, and demand. Our goal is finding balance between maximizing profit and compelling prices.
You mention innovative marketing. Tell me more.
The Estate Edit loves storytelling. Whether showing off the craftsmanship of a beautiful antique dresser or highlighting the culinary convenience of a new kitchen gadget, we create stylish and sharable social media videos.
Quality photography is key for online ads, but we take this one step further. Does the light hit the chandelier just right in the mornings? Is the couch perfect for lounging with your favorite book? We’ll capture it with lifestyle photos highlighted in social media and on our website.
The Estate Edit also partners with local online influencers to get your reels seen by and audience that’s not scouting the typical estate sale ad sites.
But don’t worry- we won’t forgo the more traditional methods of advertising. We love the new and fresh, but appreciate the tried and true.
I currently live in a condo. Can I have an estate sale?
It depends. The first step is to check with the condo board. If they give the give the go ahead, great! If not, let’s discuss online or by appointment only sales.
What is a Home Edit?
Home edits will refresh your space. With a focus on decluttering and organizing, a home edit will leave you with a better looking, better feeling space.
Consider this a great option before you move- you don’t want to unpack all those boxes and realize you’re never going to use half the things you carried with you. Or maybe you just moved in with your beloved and you don’t need two set of pots and pans. Let us help you decide what you need and what you need to get rid of.
The best part? Our home edit specialists have interior design experience, and love to do a decor remix. By styling what you already own, they will leave you space feeling refreshed and modern.
Let us help you sell the stuff you don’t need, and we’ll take care of the donation process for the rest.
Let’s talk cost.
An estate sale is a commission based service. At The Estate Edit, we charge 33% of total gross sales for organization, marketing, staffing and running your sale. This means that the more profitable the sale, the more we both make.
Home Edit pricing depends on the scope and size of the project, as well as the level of service you need. After our initial consultation, we’ll provide an estimate based on the specifics of your desired outcome. We’ll make sure to clearly communicate so you understand exactly what you are paying for.
Have stuff that’s too nice to donate but you never use?
Let us sell it for you. We know you don’t have the time or desire to deal with setting up ads, coordinating pickups, and potentially flaky buyers. We’ll take care of the process from beginning to end. You just wait for the money to roll in.
